Introduction: This is the founding course of your dive career. This course is a 2 day and one evening course designed to give students the skills and confidence they need to plan and carry out their own dives to a maximum depth of 18m without an instructors’ supervision.

1..Minimum age is 12 (all those under 18 years must have parental consent)
2. Ability to swim
3. Dive medical (This has to be done before any course can commence)

What will I do on the course?
When you book
You will be given a dive pack which includes a CD Rom to learn all your theory at your own pace at home. Please complete all the knowledge reviews and bring them with you at commencement of your course.
Friday Night
When you arrive at Scuba Shack you will begin your theory lessons, go over the knowledge reviews, and complete an exam.
Saturday
You and your instructor will head over to the pool, where you will take your first breaths underwater. You will learn all the basic skills needed to become an open water diver. After lunch you will head to ocean and complete one ocean dive. On this dive you will practice all the skills you were taught in the pool.
Sunday
The final 3 dives. Today you will complete 3 ocean dives and just have fun. On this day you may become an OPEN WATER DIVER, the first step in your diving career.
