Introduction

The purpose of this course is to give the diver an overview of five (5) selected SDI specialties. This course is intended to be an introduction to each of the five (5) specialties and not complete comprehension of the chosen specialty. Specialites to choose from are:

  • Deep Diver
  • Search and Recovery
  • Advanced Buoyancy Control
  • Marine Ecosystem Awareness
  • Night Limited Visability
  • Research Diver
  • Underwater Navigation
  • Underwater Photographer

One (1) dive from each of the chosen specialties may apply towards a complete specialty certification. Overhead environments and non diving specialties are not allowed and do not count towards the five (5) chosen specialties.Dives are limited to 100 feet (30 meter) unless the diver is already Deep Diver certified whereby dives are limited to 130 feet (40 meter).

Student Pre-Requisites

1. Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver.
2. Be a minimum age of eighteen (18).

Required Equipment

Basic SCUBA equipment and any other equipment that may apply to the chosen specialties, eg torch. (Gear hire is available through the shop)

COST $268.00

A Minimum of $150.00 is required when booking

What to bring

4. Medical if not obtained for 12 months
